.: Welcome
Blackoperations has had many faces over the last 15 years or so. It has always been a place for me to show off my interests in flight. I still have a huge amount of time and money invested in this great passion for flight simulation. At this point I am almost finished with my second F-16 Viper Pit. The first one was a low fidelity pit that approximated the internal workings of the F-16. The second one is a High Fidelity Scale Replica that acts and feels just like the real thing.
Feel free to have a look around here. I'll post up plenty of pictures, some building information as I can work it in, and links as they pertain to the hobby.

Aggressor Paint Scheme
I chose to paint the new pit blue aggressor scheme. I think it turned out great. You can see it in the picture below as well, notice how the left and right sides do not match. This is because the paint is to scale as well. I took the pattern from a full size paint template the used by the USAF. Each paint job does vary slightly as it's done by hand, but they all maintain a similar structure in relation to the overall application of each color to the plane.
Entry/Exit Ladder
I was lucky enough to have a friend build this scale replica ladder based on measurements and pictures of the real thing. I left the hand rails off as they would be a distraction from the forward visuals. We measured to the top landing point of the ladder in relation to the side of the F-16 and shortened the length based on where it landed on the side of the simulator. That left us enough room for two rungs and the top plate.
I also build 3D Gauge replication programs for use with IL-2 1946, and Falcon 4. You can see those using the links at the right.
